Abracadabra Teddy Bears Ltd is a small shop situated in Saffron Walden in Essex, very close to the Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Suffolk borders. The business celebrated it's seventh anniversary in October 2007 and continues to offer a warm, personal and friendly service from it's joint owners, Marsha & Malcolm. Opening hours are 09.30 - 17.00 Monday to Friday and 09.30 - 17.30 Saturday.
We are best known for our selection of artist bears from all over the world which we source for their quality and uniqueness. There are many wonderful bear artists who have worked very hard to develop particular styles and techniques only to have these sadly mimicked by others who are not talented enough to produce something different of their own. We look for and promote work only from those artists that we perceive to have used their own talent and who have not been overly "influenced" by another artist's work. The shop also stocks many well known brand names with excellent selections, for example, from Steiff, Hermann Teddy, Merrythought, Countrylife, Steiner, Deb Canham and Charlie Bears. As well as collectable bears we also sell lots of cuddly teddies and other soft toys by top makers like Russ Berrie, Gund and Rainbow Designs. We have a great selection of realistic toy animals by Hansa, Paddington Bear in a variety of sizes, Miffy, Snoopy and the range of Beatrix Potter characters. If you are looking for beautiful quality dolls, we have a large stock from Goetz together with clothes and accessories. Our nursery range is increasing all the time with knitted Grannimals, Blankie Bears, Dou Dou et Compagnie, Steiff for baby, Gund and a whole lot more. In 2006 we opened The Orphanage which offers mint condition secondary market artist bears on consignment from private collections. The marketing service we offer to help collectors find new homes for some of their bears has been very popular and while we cannot claim successful adoptions in every case, more often than not a bear will find a new home through us. We also have a small selection of vintage bears for sale, sometimes on behalf of other customers as commission sales. All of our artist bears, Orphanage bears, old bears and most of the branded items can be purchased through the secure on-line buying system here on the website.
