HOW TO PLACE YOUR ORDER & OTHER INFORMATION

 


  SECURE ON LINE PAYMENT 

                              

The system: The postal costs for each bear are listed following the purchase price. When you click on the "PLEASE ADOPT ME " link here, or following the description of the bear of your choice, you will be directed to a simple secure single page form to fill in.  You will be asked for the name of the bear and artist or manufacturer, (you can list as many items as you want) your contact details and method of payment required.  You will be able to input your card details and pay by Visa, MasterCard, Delta, Amex and Solo or you can choose other methods of payment, including layaway options.  This form comes to us in an encrypted mode and once we have used your payment details, the information is destroyed. You will receive an email confirmation of your order from us.  If you are adopting more than one bear, the postal costs will be adjusted down accordingly and will not necessarily be as high as the cost for each bear sent separately. 

Please note: The order form is a request to purchase an item.  We cannot guarantee that the item requested will always be available.  All orders are strictly dealt with in the order in which they are received.  It is not always possible to immediately mark an item as "adopted" although we do update the site at least twice a day.

If you prefer to contact us without using the order form,  you can e-mail us at marsha@abracadabra-teddies.com.  We can take your payment details by telephone (between GBT 09.30 - 17.00) Monday - Saturday or fax (24 hours) on +44 (0)1799 527222.  Please do not send your credit card details in an email.  If you have any questions about the bears that are not answered by the website description,  please do not hesitate to contact us - we will endeavour to answer all your enquiries by the end of the day in which we receive them.  We can also accept payment by personal cheque (UK only), international money orders in sterling (drawn on a bank which has a branch in the UK), sterling travellers cheques and direct bank transfer.


LAYAWAY PURCHASES

If you would like to spread the cost of your purchase over a period of time, interest free, we can arrange a suitable layaway scheme for you.  The usual and average length of time is 3 months but we are reasonably flexible and try to fit in with our customers requirements.  With some of the higher priced bears we can extend sometimes up to 6 months or beyond if required.  To arrange a layaway we need either credit/debit card information (which is kept encoded and separate to all other information about you) or post-dated cheques.  The price of the bear and his travelling costs, where appropriate, are divided over the agreed number of months and the payment is taken by us on the same date of each month until the layaway is finished. 

PLEASE NOTE: in case of cancellation of a layaway, any payments made are non-refundable.  Payments can be held as credit against a future adoption or may, in some cases and depending on circumstances, be refunded when the item which had been reserved is resold. In the case of any "goodwill" refund made in this way, a 10% re-listing fee will be charged. 


OUR MAIL ORDER GUARANTEE

Once an order is received we guarantee to ship within 24 hours in most cases.  If there is any delay we will notify you and once your bear has been sent off we will confirm by e-mail.

For UK destinations and for items with a value of up to GBP30 we use first class post/recorded delivery which includes insurance.  For UK destinations and for items over GBP30 in value, we use Royal Mail special delivery which is guaranteed to arrive by 1 p.m. the day following despatch, (Saturday not guaranteed).

To most overseas destinations for parcels up to 2 kg in weight we use Royal Mail "International Signed For" small packet service.  For parcels which weigh 2 kg and over we use Parcelforce International Standard service for all destinations with the exception of Europe, the USA & Canada where we use Air Express through UK Mail which links up with UPS for delivery.

Please note that postage prices are subject to variation if there is an increase in the postal charges to us.

In every case we ensure, for your protection, that your bears are fully insured.


RECYCLING POLICY

Wherever possible we use recycled materials for packaging.  This is in keeping with our policy to help the environment and keep costs to a minimum.


RETURNS

If when your bear arrives you are not completely delighted, we will give a full refund (less postal charges) providing the bear is returned to us within 7 days of receipt and is in perfect condition when he arrives back with us.

N.B: returned items purchased on layaway will be subject to a 10% re-listing fee.

Orphans: secondary market bears which have been adopted from the Orphanage are offered for sale on behalf of the owners and are therefore not covered by our own returns policy.  All bears offered for sale through our Orphanage scheme are carefully examined on arrival at the shop and only those in mint condition are put up for adoption.
