Welcome to our online shopping guide, set out to make your shopping experience as pleasant and easy as possible. If you do find that you have any questions that are not answered here, please just give us a call on 01799 527222 and we will be here, 10.00 – 16.00 UK time, You can contact us by email any time; these are checked periodically and will be answered outside of opening hours, when possible.
Prices quoted are in GB pounds and include 20% VAT which will automatically be deducted for orders placed from outside the EU. The only exception to this are items from the Orphanage section which are secondary market and VAT is not included in the price.
There is a currency calculator located on each page where you can convert the price to your own currency but, please note, this is for guidance only. You will be charged in GB pounds and the amount this will be converted to depends on the rate of exchange that your bank/card issuer uses and may differ slightly from the currency calculator rate. The calculator is set to convert the VAT inclusive price as shown on the page so if you are outside the EU, you will need to recalculate using the price excluding VAT.
If something catches your eye whilst browsing through the website, you can pop it into your shopping bag at any time without having to pick up the phone or visit the shop. You can carry on browsing and your item will remain in the shopping bag until you’re ready to go to the checkout. You can access your shopping bag at any time from any page of the website so if you want to add another item as you browse, it’s as easy as that. You can check the cost of postage in the shopping bag by opening the drop down menu where it says "select country" and the postage will be calculated for you.
When you have finished browsing, just access your shopping bag and proceed to the payment page where, once confirmed, you will be able to print off a copy of your order. Please note - you will not be able to proceed beyond the shopping bag until you have selected your country.
If you purchase several items and we find that the actual cost of postage combined is less than the amount paid, you are guaranteed a refund of the difference.
ORDER BY TELEPHONE
If you prefer not to shop online, you can call us on 01799 527222 between 09.00 and 17.00 Monday to Saturday and pay over the telephone. Your payment will be put through our card machine while you are on the telephone and your card details will not be written down.
ORDER BY EMAIL
If you wish to order something outside of shop opening hours and prefer not to use online shopping, you can always send an email to email@example.com asking us to reserve your item and giving us a time when you will be able to contact us by telephone. Please don’t send credit card information in an email.
If you would like to spread the cost of your purchase over a period of time, interest free, we can arrange a suitable layaway scheme for you. The usual and average length of time is 3 months but with higher priced artist bears we can be flexible and try to fit in with our customers’ requirements. Layaway can be arranged using one of the following options:
1) Fill in an order form on our secure site. The information comes to us in an encrypted form and can only be decrypted using special software so your details are completely safe. A confirmation of your monthly payments will be confirmed back to you by email and payments will be taken automatically on the same date each month. Your teddy bear will be sent to you after the final payment. If you would like to proceed using the order form, please click here.
2) Telephone the shop on +44 (0)1799 527222 UK time between 09.00 and 17.00 Monday to Friday. Order details will be taken over the telephone.
3) Outside of shop opening hours you can email firstname.lastname@example.org, ask to reserve your bear and give a time when you will be calling the shop to confirm your order. Please don't send credit or debit card details in an email.
PLEASE NOTE: in case of cancellation of a layaway, any payments made are non-refundable. Payments can be held as credit against a future adoption or may, in some cases and depending on circumstances, be refunded when the item which had been reserved is resold. In the case of any "goodwill" refund made in this way, a 10% re-listing fee will be charged.
We accept all major credit and debit cards both on-line and over the telephone. Payment can also be made by BACS here in the UK and International Bank Transfers from overseas. Please contact us for bank details. Cheques from UK accounts will require 5 full days clearance and should be made out to Marsha Davison. Paypal payments are only accepted using the "friends and family" option.
Postage on most orders over £60 in value is free in the UK with the exception of Artist Bears and Orphans which are charged at cost based on parcel weight. You can easily check the actual postage cost for any item by popping it into your shopping bag and opening the drop down menu to view the postage cost for wherever you are in the world.
If you are dissatisfied in any way with your purchase we will give you a full refund provided (1) you advise us within 14 days that you are going to return the item, (2) the item is returned within 14 days from advising us and (3) the item is returned in a perfect, unused condition complete with tags, box and certificate, where appropriate.
Please note, however, that no guarantee can be made regarding the colour of any item as this may vary depending on the monitor quality and settings of the device on which it is viewed.
Refund will be the item’s cost less any original postage costs incurred by Abracadabra.
We do reserve the right to not refund the full cost where items are returned damaged or with accessories missing.
Returned items which were purchased on layaway will be subject to a 10% re-listing fee.
Orphans: secondary market bears which have been adopted from the Orphanage are offered for sale on behalf of the owners and are therefore not covered by our own returns policy. All bears offered for sale through our Orphanage scheme are carefully examined on arrival at the shop and only those in mint condition are put up for adoption. We therefore do not accept Orphan returns.
