60th Anniversary Paddington Bear (690495) - 11"/28cm.
Michael Bond first published everyone's favourite Bear from Peru in
1958, with illustrations by Peggy Fortnum. To honour Paddington's 60th
Anniversary, Steiff have based this design upon those first black line
drawings, emphasising his openly friendly face, along with his naive
innocence and optimistic appeal.
Paddington is 28cm tall and fully jointed. He has been sewn from a sumptuously dense gold mohair, with matching wool felt paws. He has endearing glossy eyes, with a kissable hand stitched nose. He wears his red wool felt bush hat, with blue duffle coat complete with wooden toggles and pockets. In his paw he holds that all important suitcase, detailed with corner protectors, handle, his initials and his 'wanted on voyage' label. He also wears a specially commissioned 60th Anniversary logo, should you question his importance.
This truly adorable interpretation is a UK and North American Exclusive of 1,958 (year of first publication) Bears and will come to you boxed with his numbered certificate of authenticity.
